Job Description

My client, an established Motor Insurance Broker require a New Claims Handler to join their busy and friendly customer service team in Hove.

Role Outline:

Working within a team you will be responsible for answering incoming calls and recording new claims onto the system. Appointing the appropriate suppliers of services to the customer as quickly and accurately as possible. Acknowledge receipt of claim to policyholder and relevant parties. Identify policy add-ons and explain benefits to the policyholder, refer to matrix for providers. Complete new claims check list. Update memo system, update reserves and add/set appropriate diary date. Carry out MID check and where non fault accident, establish vehicle hire requirements and contact Third Party Insurer. Direct our policyholder to our repair network for all repairs. If non-fault, identify all injured parties, including passengers and direct them to our solicitors for personal injury. If fault accident, make immediate contact with Third Party and sell benefits of our TP service. If no MID match, do DVLA trace. Control urgent cases ensure vetting of estimates and total loss inspections are given priority. Where necessary follow up on repairs/total loss inspections. Responsibility for the paying of windscreen invoices in line with individual authority limits. Responsible for the processing and banking of recovery cheques.

Motor claims handling experience would be ideal, especially taking notification of new claims, setting reserves and allocating services.Otherwise my client is looking for telephone based information handling and upselling skills.The purpose of the role is to identify requirements and opportunities, ensure they are met using their services where possible. Personal lines claims experience may be beneficial.This is not a sales role, but the ability to provide a high level of customer service is essential.
